OB appointment #6
We were scheduled for an appointment last October 23, but since G has work we went to the OB last Saturday only. We arrived at the hospital around 5pm already because we dropped by our house first. After that, we grabbed some snacks at Jolibee then proceeded to the hospital.
When we arrived, the secretary got the usual statistics like my weight and BP. I had gained weight again... from 60 kilos, I am now 65 kilos. My BP that time was 110/70, still normal for me. After several minutes, it was my turn already. Doc Alma greeted us and she started computing for my due date (again). Later, she asked me about my assignment. I showed her the lab test result. She wasn't that alarmed. She just told me that I should take another test. This time, I have to undergo the 100 mg glucose test. She explained the procedure and how long it will take. She also said that there are patients with high results in 50 mg glucose test but turn out normal in 100 mg test. It really depends on several factors.
After that, she asked me to lie down for her to check on the baby. The baby's heartrate is 144 beats/minute. Still very active and positioned well. Everything is well...
She instructed that I text her the result of my glucose test immediately so that she can tell me what I should do. In case everything is normal, I'll visit her after two weeks (Nov. 8) but if the result is still high, I should visit her asap. We need to check if I should change my diet or worst, I should consult a diabetologist
.
In addition, she also asked me to buy my tetanus toxoid injection already. She will just injject it to me on our next meeting.
So far, I hope to get a better lab result next time. I don't want baby to suffer because of my hardheadedness
