lab test - the repeat

Last Friday, I was scheduled to have my repeat lab test. This time, instead of 50mg glucose, I took 100mg for the OGTT. I slept late the night before because I made sure to eat/drink something before my fasting hours. True enough, I wasn't that hungry when I went to the clinic.

I opted to go on a Friday because Saturday is usually toxic with lots of patients. That time, I was the only one being attended to. I paid P680 for the test and immediately proceeded to the laboratory. For my baseline stats, the medtech extracted blood sample. After that, I was required to drink the glucose drink. An hour after, the medtech took another blood sample. Then another 'batch' again after an hour. The last extract was made around 11:20am already.

While waiting for my next extraction, I kept myself busy reading the pocketbook that I brought with me (Judy Blume's Summer Sister). I was also texting G, informing him of the steps that I am going through. The hours were so fast because I was engrossed with my book.

After the last blood extraction, the medtech asked me to just wait for the result. This is better because the last time I had my test, I was asked to go back an hour after for it. I was praying this time that the result will be better... and it was! All values were within the normal range except for the second extraction. I texted my OB informing her of the results but she said that it is still okay. I just need to see her again on my scheduled check-up next week.

Now, I can go back to my usual diet. But still, I have to monitor my sugar intake especially on chocolatey stuffs.
