things to pack for the hospital
I am really clueless with the things that I should bring with me to the hospital. So I started browsing and bloghopping from one mommy blog to another, hoping to find the one post that I am looking for. Thanks for the ever reliable n@wie yahoogroup that I belong to, because I found one mom who does have 'THE checklist'. The post I have under is taken from Jane's Milkstation Blog. This is very helpful that I wanted to share it with other moms out there.

Things to pack for mom:
1. Underwear
2. Socks
3. Maternity pads (You can actually just use ordinary sanitary pads, but choose the extra long ones. Oh, and this is because you'll be having postpartum bleeding, or lochia, for about a month.)
4. Nursing bra (If you bought one already.)
5. Nursing gown (You can ask the nurses if you can change into your own gown instead of the hospital gown.)
6. Towel / Wash cloth
7. Toiletries
8. Breastpump and small cup (Just in case you can't nurse directly.)
9. Camera
10. Cellphone
11. Chargers for the camera and the cellphone
12. Baby book (If you have one, and it has a page where you put your baby's hand and footprints. You can give it to the nurse beforehand and ask them to get the prints for you.)
13. Going-home outfit (You'll still look about 6 months pregnant at this point, so bring maternity clothes, not pre-pregnancy clothes.)
14. Pre-natal vitamins (You'll still be needing these when you breastfeed.)
15. Birth plan
16. Papers (Admission letter, marriage certificate, Philhealth, SSS)
17. Snacks for dad
Things to pack for baby (assuming you're rooming-in):
1. Diapers
2. Receiving / swaddling blankets
3. Clothes (For first-time parents who aren't experts in the science of diaper changing yet, expect poop-filled disasters and around 2-3 changes of clothes a day.)
4. Socks
5. Mittens
6. Caps / Bonnets
7. 70% Isopropyl alcohol
8. Cotton buds
9. Cotton balls
10. A small container for water (For diaper changes)
11. Baby wipes (If you opt to use these instead of cotton balls and water.)
12. Burp pads
13. Wash cloth
14. Going-home outfit (If you want to dress your baby in a special outfit for going home and taking pictures.)
15. Car seat
