pedia date

Saturday, we had to go out again. This day is our first pedia appointment. We were previously scheduled on January 30 but was moved a week after because baby's pedia gave birth last Jan 26. Pedia's clinic hours started at 4 pm but we got to the hospital at around 4:30 pm already. We were number 12 in the list. While waiting, G went to look for another doctor to check on the rashes that are forming on his knuckles. The derma was not available that time so he went to a doctor who specializes on Family Medicine instead. I was left with baby.

Waiting is so boring! I wished the hospital had televisions with tv stand, so that it can keep the patients entertained. While waiting for baby's turn, we accompanied G when it was his turn. When we got back to the pedia's clinic, it was still on patient number 9. That was already around 7 pm. Finally, we got in before 8 pm. Dra Aman-Angeles did the initial physical tests like taking baby's length. She asks about her milk intake, 'popo' output, etc. Then she told me that she'd inject baby with BCG vaccine. I was shocked because this was not scheduled but she told me that the previous patient had excess vaccine which is still enough for one more patient so she is giving it for free to baby (who wouldn't accept a FREE vaccine right? This saved us P550 ).

After that, she scheduled our next visit. It was supposed to be on March 7 but we told her that baby will be baptized on March 8 so she moved it a week earlier. The next visit will be on February 28. We will have the HIB vaccine by then... and we have to prepare additional P1,500 for the vaccine. For baby's other vaccines, those that are available in the health center, we can avail of it there. If we prefer to avail of it from the pedia, we have to prepare P2,750 for everything.

I hope to check on the health center. I will first have to ask our neighbor where the health center is and how they do the vaccination (that is if I need to just bring baby there or I have to have her scheduled, etc).
