vaccine updates
There are still a lot of vaccines lined up for baby Gwenks. Last week, she got another shot for her DPT, the last of 3 and Polio. These shots were taken cared at our barangay health center. We didn't pay anything for it and just gave some donation. If we availed of these shots from the pedia, we would have paid P3,500 for the 6 in 1 shot. The downside of having it from the center is that she is prone to fever. This time, she was sluggish and not in the mood for any activity. She preferred to sleep most of the afternoon. The good thing, it only lasted for several hours. The next day, she was back to her active self.
Another vaccine that she took this month is her first shot for rotavirus. Her pedia didn't inform us earlier about this vaccine so we didn't have time to save for it earlier. This shot costs us P3000. It is an optional vaccine but we opted that baby Gwenks have it too. With the H1N1 flu issues these days, it is like having a travel health insurance for the little girl. We don't want to risk her at all. As they say, prevention is better than cure. Since this vaccine needs to be administered before the end of the 6th month, she'll have the second dose by 3rd week of June.
On June 2, we have another schedule. This time it will be for the 3rd and last dose of her HiB...
