baby signing

I started baby signing with baby Gwenks when she was 6 months old. I was able to teach her only a few because I felt that she would talk early. This came out to be true. At one year, eight months she can already tell what she wants. She can say the last syllables of what she wanted to say but it is easy for us to understand it. With baby Stefi, I plan to teach her more baby signs. I have started teaching her the sign of nanay and milk. She is still learning but with constant practice, I know that she will do it soon.

Baby signing, for me, is a matter of familiarization. You do not need to memorize all the signs that you see in videos or books, you can incorporate your own. It is even easier this way. One thing that I learned from baby signing is starting with simple and most frequent words used. You can start with milk, hungry, poopoo and the like. I hope I don't get to 'make' a sign forĀ Mesothelioma cancer since it is way too complicated and I don't talk with my child about this illeness. Even an adult would find it difficult to understand this illness.

Anyway, as baby Stefi grows older, I hope that she'll learn to communicate well. It is not easy understanding a fuzzy child you know. It causes headaches.
